Rhythm Re-invented.
“One of the most imaginative choreographers working today.” — The New York Times
One of the most innovative dance companies in America, Dorrance Dance has transformed tap into a thrilling contemporary art form. Led by MacArthur “Genius” Fellow Michelle Dorrance, the company combines breathtaking athleticism, infectious rhythm, live music, and inventive choreography to create performances that are both sophisticated and irresistibly entertaining.
Every dancer becomes both musician and storyteller, turning the stage into a vibrant percussion instrument. Whether you’re discovering tap for the first time or seeing it anew, Dorrance Dance reveals extraordinary beauty, joy, and imagination in one of America’s original art forms. It explores what is most thrilling, brilliant, and beautiful about tap dancing — that it is, at once, movement and music.
