BURKE AREA EVENTS

Resolve to Revolve Fatbike Demo Day

 Fatbike Demo Day!

This year, kick off the new year on 2 wheels and fat tires.

Kingdom Trails grooms over 25 miles of singletrack trails for fatbiking and on New Year’s Day we will host a fatbike demo day to give you the chance to either shop for your new fatbike, or try it out for the first time to see if you like it.

Bikes are available for 45 minute rides.

Demos will be followed by an after party. More details to follow!

 Women's NorAm Giant Slalom & Slalom on Warren’s Way, hosted by Burke Mountain Academy.

 

Expect more ski racer traffic through the day with delayed openings on Upper/Lower Warren Way. Training could impact other ski trails like McHarg's Cutoff (more details to come). Additionally, the Mid Burke Express is expected to have an early lift load to support racer traffic all three days.

The story of displacement is a universal human story. Whether displaced through forces beyond our control, through choice, or even through the acceleration of cultural and technological evolution around us, all humans are marked by adaptation and re-orientation. Understanding this helps us understanding ourselves.

In 2019, after working for years with military veterans and their stories, The Telling Project officially launched this new initiative, “The Same Moon,” creating performances in which immigrant and refugee populations had the opportunity to tell their stories to their communities. Whether generations past, or in their own lifetimes, every American citizen bears the legacy of displacement – an experience that has impacted, and unites, us all.

During the late summer and early fall KCP Presents will work with the nationally acclaimed Telling Project to meet with Vermonters who have power experiences of migration to share. Through a series of dialogues, we’ll create a documentary theater script. Then we’ll rehearse the performance to present this evening-length show.

Yamato was founded by Masa Ogawa in 1993 in Nara, ‘the land of Yamato” which is said to be the birthplace of Japanese culture. Presently based in Asuka Village, Nara Prefecture, Yamato travels all over the word with Japan’s traditional Wadaiko drums, putting its very souls into the unusual instruments, whose sound stirs the hearts of people everywhere.

9am and 5:30pm classes. Group conditioning classes are designed with the time frugal and health conscious individual in mind. These classes will begin with a comprehensive warm-up followed by strength, power, conditioning, agility or flexibility. The program implemented will

January Term Exhibition Night

 Constructed from the passions of Lyndon Institute's students and faculty, this three week “interim” term is designed for LI students to immerse themselves in either an intensive study of subjects or an internship.  Kids 15 and under are welcome to join us for dinner and a movie on Friday nights starting 1/10 from 7-10 pm. This is the perfect chance for parents to enjoy an evening to themselves!

Performance Bootcamps

Bootcamp is an 8-week, large group training of about 14 individuals who all have the same relative goals. The programs are not individualized, but consist of intense and challenging cardiovascular, strength, metabolic, and mobility/flexibility training to help improve overall health and increase performance in everyday life. Bootcamp meets Monday/Wednesday/Friday at 6pm

Womens Small Group Training

Small group training is a group of 3 to 9 individuals who all have the same relative goals. The group members all follow the same training program. The programs consist of cardiovascular, strength, and metabolic conditioning. The program is not individualized as compared to personal training, semi-private, or buddy training. This is the more cost-effective option for individuals who are looking for a structured exercise program without the cost of personal training. Training times are at the individual and trainer’s discretion.
