Following the reading\, Shannon will lead a thoughtful discussion around the themes and topics explored in the book and answer questions from the audience. The conversation will touch on childhood trauma\, healing\, and the importance of advocacy and awareness surrounding child abuse and domestic violence. \nShannon is also a graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington\, where she earned a double degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. Her professional background working with children\, combined with her lived experiences\, gives her a unique perspective and depth of understanding when speaking about childhood trauma\, resilience\, and healing. \nThis event is especially meaningful to Brown\, who spent many hours in the Athenaeum growing up\, finding comfort and escape in books and stories.
